Day Three of our adventures in Italy (Friday)

This Morning before the sun came up we woke up, we checked out at 5:50am. Out the door and into the drizzle and cold with all our luggage. We walked back to the train station to catch the early train to Orte. While we waited for our Train in Orte we ate pastries from the little market. I had a sweet crescent. Rachel and the girls had hot Chocolate. Hot Chocolate in Italy is nothing like in the U.S.. If you go you must try it!

Our train to Venice arrived on time, we boarded on one of the last cars and realized that the first class cars were at the front of the train. So we had a nice tour of the whole train luggage in tow. The kids were disappointed that were not sitting in 2nd class seats, they were the Harry Potter style compartments. We were fine with the 1st class car it was a nice quiet ride and we had some much needed rest. Rachel read to us from one of her travel books all about the things we could do and see in Venice/Venezia. I enjoyed watching the beautiful country side out the window. I saw a few vineyards along the way.

After arriving in Venice we caught a water taxi to our Hotel. What a great way to take in the beauty of Venice the city on water.

We were dropped off as close as the water taxi could get us to the Hotel after we checked in and got ride of our luggage. We went and found a cafe that Rachel found in her travel book. The food was wonderful and we stood at the counter and ate just like the venicians do:)

There realy is no other way to describe the Hot chocolate other than a melted dark swiss chocolate candy bar melted an thinned with a slight bit of whole milk in a mug with whipped cream on top. If I had not been walking all day and pulling luggage for about 30 min and then standing up for over an hour waiting for a bus to take us to the airport and then deciding we better catch the next cab. before we purchased me a cup at the airport it probably would have sent me to the hospital:) That is how good it is!!!!
