Last Surf day in April

After a trip to the doctors office and the grocery store the boys had the boards loaded and ready to go.

Nick and Thomas

Darren

Thomas and Nick said the water is warm and next time he may not need a wetsuit:)

Some storm clouds moved in and on our way home we drove into a Thunderstorm with heavy rain. I took a video clip of it. I didn't catch any lightning while filming though.

Charleston Airshow

The Charleston Airforce Base Hosted an Airshow.

The Airforce Thunderbirds were the main attraction in the sky.

The Base was closed when we got there in the early afternoon. Some thing about people being in the box when the Thunderbirds flew.

So we went down to Ashley phosphate rd. and into a commercial park that backs up to the airport area. We watched the rest of the show from the back of the truck. Next time we will bring a picnic lunch and go there first:) D arren took these with his iphone, I forgot my battery it was charging.

Early evening walk on the Folly Pier

Folly beach
Charleston, South Carolina
April 24th 2008

The Folly beach pier has been closed all winter for renovations.
It has been open about a month now and is open late for the rest of the season!

The pier is a nice long and wide pier with lots of fishing benches and a 2 story gazebo that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. A shop and Restaurant are located on each side of the entrance with a Holiday Inn right next door with pier and Ocean views.

Looking North up Folly beach toward Charleston bay and Morris Head light house.

It was a bit breezy, a nice, not cold breeze!

"The waves are not to big, some nice sets coming in though."

"We should have brought the boards with us."

Most of these guys were wearing wetsuits, but there were a few out with Boardshorts only.

On our way home we stopped at FireHouse Subs for dinner. We had heard that they make great Subs. We liked ours We all had the New York Steamer. If you don't have one near you here is their web Addy. http://wwwfirehousesubs.com/

This is a fun picture.

There are incredible old growth Oaks with moss hanging from the branches in this park. It really does look like an old southern place.

I do not believe in getting old!!!

I feel young even if it was my birthday this past week. O.K. it's true I have few more aches and pains than I did 10 years ago:( My oldest child is now married and my youngest just went to the Prom. I don't feel old enough for that yet!!! Don't get me wrong I would never wish to be a teenager again, once was enough! I really did enjoy my birthday this year! Thanks to some very special people who helped make it really special:)

Genaral Conference

Today was a very special session of General Conference. A rare opportunity to sustain a new First Presidency. We were able to Sustain President Thomas S. Monson as President of the Church along with members all around the world. His councilors President Henry B. Eyring and President Dieter F. Uchtdorf were also sustained. As were two new Apostles, Elder Quentin L. Cook and Elder D. Todd Christoferson. What a wonderful blessing to be able to watch and hear Conference where ever you live around the world.
