Seminary Graduation 2008

Seminary Graduation

This is the day all Early Morning Seminary Students look forward too. It is a challenge to get up before it gets light and go to seminary before school all year long. It is totally worth it though. I can say that having been an early morning student myself and having 2 son's finish early morning seminary as well as teaching 2 years of Early Morning Seminary.

Young Womens Tuesday Night

Graduation Party

Sister Stubbs Reading Dr. Suess's "Oh the Places you'll go!"

I am in the young womens Presidency as of Sunday and this is my first activity. Lucky for me I was not in charge:) This was such a cute idea. The girls decided they wanted to throw a graduation party for the Laurel's who were seniors. The Presidency found or made all the cute stuff that the Graduates received, are they talented or what!!!! I hope I learn how to be creative too!

Memorial Day

The not so annual Oakbrook Ward softball game.

The dugout

Darren playing 3rd baseman.

Nick's favorite spot on the field, far left field.

Gwen Haycock daughter of Mason and Laura.

Just a short clip of what a church ball game at Gahagan Fields looks like.

Darren made a beautiful play for his team which ended up in a dislocated finger. He was on the bench the rest of the game.

Strawberry Picking

This morning after seminary I decided it was a great time to go get some farm fresh strawberries. So I enlisted some help and on our way we went. A 4o min. drive to Mt. Pleasent and we arrive at our destination. The Belle Hall plantation Farms. The strawberries took on some damamge in the last hail storm so they were 1.29 lb. We picked 4.00$ worth.

Happy Birthday Darren

Happy 45th birthday Darren.
Darren wanted a ferrari chocolate cake. I did my best, I am not too good with frosting. He was not feeling to well so we did not do much in the way of celebrations. I made one of his favorite dinners, Swiss steak with Mashed potatoes and green beans. I still owe him a new pair of board shorts. I think we are going to the surf shop when he feels better.

Happy Mothers Day

Today is the official day that we celebrate mothers. By no means is it the only day we should honor our mothers. So to our Mom's we thank you for all the love and service you have given us over our life time!

I was treated to a special breakfast, and lots of wonderful flowers. I received a special phone message with singing:) I have very special Boys who treat me so well, and a Husband who spoils me rotten:)

Storms are Messy

We had another Lightning storm come thru last night. It packed 60 mile winds, hail and intense rain. Here are some pictures taken this morning after we came home from Seminary. Nick cleaned up all the large branches and limbs and blew the driveway when it dryed off.
Thanks Nick!

Spring Mulch

Today was another beautiful day in Flower Town. So why not get a little work done in the yard!
Darren took Nick and they filled the trailer with Natural Cypress mulch. They worked at pulling the weeds out of the front beds and them spread a nice layer of mulch.
It looks wonderful. I noticed that some of our Hibiscus plants are coming back.
Nick drove the truck forward with the trailer attached, after a bit of instruction. He is looking forward to getting his liscense this spring.

Tonight was the Mormon Prom in Columbia with high school age youth from 3 Stakes participating. Elisa asked Nick to go with her.

Elisa & Nick

Well that left us with the evening to our selves. We decided that it was warm enough to take the Ferrari over to the coast. We ate dinner at The Charleston Crab house in Mt. Pleasant surprisingly it was not to busy for a friday evening. After fish, shrimp and a few fried Green Tomatoes. We drove to IOP and took a short walk on the beach. A couple of very kind ladies walking too asked if we wanted our picture taken.
