Scary walk this morning!

I almost stepped on this! I quickly turned and ran the other direction. Went directly in the house and told Darren. He said oh it was probably a harmless king snake. Lucky for me I did not get bit. This is a Copperhead and is poisonous. The venom is not to bad but very painful and needs to be treated. I did not knoe this before Darren helped it into the woods across our driveway. Now I am going to be wary while walking or running!

I so would have wanted it killed too! So here is my little copperhead snake story. I was on trek dressed up like a yea-hoo, hiking along in very hot weather when the brother next to me stops and very calmly says don't move. I stop and then he uses his walking stick to fling a baby copperhead off into the woods. I was like a step away from stepping on that sucker and it was a baby which can do a lot of damage. And I didn't even see it! So scary! Glad you are safe but watch out!! Yikes.

Now the snake knows where you live - he didn't kill it so now it will be back!!!! Darren probably wants it for a pet!

Don't worry! It just wanted to borrow Darren's surf board.

You guys are way too funny - the comments are sooo great about a poor little old snake that just wanted to be your friend... Actually, a few months ago Uncle John moved our garbage can to the front of the house and there were baby snakes-Yikes-I got out of there fast too!!I'm with ya.
