Thursday Update (Last one for March)
I decided it was about time I got to sewing a new bag before another year rolled around! I purchased some Amy Butler fabric about a year ago on sale and have been saving it for this project. I also found some Kaffe Fassett Polka Dots and Bamboo handles about 3 months ago that I thought might be fun to incorporate into this bag. I of course used my favorite pattern by Beki Lambert the "Short And Sassy".
The handles look uneven, that is an illusion or poor photography on my part.
I am currently working on a wallet to match. I will post more about it when it is finished.
Enjoy this last week of March and the beautiful spring sunshine!

Stake Sports Day
A beautiful day for the Youth Sports Day! Held at a park on the Navel Weapons Station. While there a Navy couple exchanged vows and we became the reception.
Oakbrook girls are ready to get there game on!
Brother Powell is always there when you need him, he is not always in the sun though!

Cute Navy couple who got married on the dock in the first picture while the kids were eating their lunch. Brother Powell made sure they all got some lunch too!
The weather was so nice that after I got home I let Kirra and Rusty out to play while I looked for some more signs of spring.
Here is what we found.
Berries
White weed flowers
A very over grown Loropetalum
Happy Spring everyone!

Thursday Update
Spring is really here and the Bradford Pears are all in bloom! This was taken a few days ago on my iPhone while stopped at a red light. They are now just bursting with White Blossoms. I don't own one so no close up pictures.
Here is my first try at a Pinwheel block. I made this to go in my frame for the Month of March.
This bottle cozy started out as a hat, I was crocheting to tight so I decided to just keep using a single crochet stitch and turn it into a glass or bottle cozy. These are nice to use when you have a cold soda or water bottle so they don't leave a wet mess on your desk.
This is my first attempt at Free Motion Quilting. It was all right but I am going to practice on a lot more scraps before attempting anything quilted.
This is a Pinwheel placemat I think it turned out better then the first attempt.
And the back, fabric is from Walmart in case you were wondering.
This came in the mail from the Fabric Shack they are located in Ohio. They have a super sale selection of Moda fabrics and my order came very quick;)
This is going to be in my April block!

First sign of spring!
This has truly been a long winter for us here in Summerville! We are usually on the upper end of the thermometer nation wide but not this winter. The south has been as much as 20 degree's below average. So when the sun came out and it was warm enough to spend more then 5 min outside yesterday, I found a sign of spring in our yard!!! I just had to share this hoping it brings hope to you as well.

Thursday Update
Well I really thought it would be warmer by now! I am so, so ready for spring! How about you?
This is the baby blanket just before I sewed the opening closed with invisible thread. Love that stuff!
I just have a few more rows to tie and then it will be finished!
I hope you enjoy some sunshine and outdoor time this week!
