Thursday Update

It was so fun to get back in my sewing room after the week at girls camp.
A good friend found this cute tutorial at Skip To My Lou and sent it to me.
There is a zipper in it but she explains how to put it in very well. It does not take very much fabric at all so it will be fun mixing those cute small pieces in your stash!

I am working on my blanket stitch on a few squares of fleece.

This year we are having a lot of luck with Tomatoes so I am going to try a few other seeds and see what happens. The tomato here came from our bush outside. The seedlings behind it are also tomatoes, and the seedlings on the right are basal.

Girls Camp 2010!

I was asked to take a group picture at girls camp this year and was going to spend the first Night. Turns out that I ended up volunteering too stay the entire week. I know crazy huh! I really did enjoy being with the beautiful and sweet girls from our stake (Charleston, SC) They were energetic and happy everyday, even though the camp pool was rarely available to cool down in ( that is another story to long to tell).

Thursday Update

Wow I can't believe we are almost into Summer and half the year has gone by!
I finished the Greta quilt and just took it out of the dryer tonight. I really like it despite the seams that did not stay put during it's washing. A few hand stitches and all is well.

And just for fun a grungy style flower from some of the scraps!
Wishing you all a very happy Summer!

Evening at the Beach

For Jacquie's Birthday evening after work we packed the truck, picked up some Jersey Mikes sandwiches and headed for our favorite spot on the beach!

The water is warmer, but not warm enough for evening surfing yet!

Flip flops and cruisers are out and about all over the Low Country!

Princess Party!

We have two Birthdays to Celebrate in May!

Darren wanted a round Chocolate cake, it turned out to be a earthcake/volcano cake. (do not use super moist for stacking)

Jacquie requested a Princess Party

Leave it to the kids to get him a dangerous gift!
It is so much fun to have a girl in the house!

He is having way too much fun with this!

New shirt looks great!
After opening presents we went out to Dinner at the Red Lobster. Dinner was delicious we all had Shrimp  and/or Salmon!

The Johnson Family is getting a new member!

We are expecting our first Grandbaby, Ben & Jacquie are expecting their first baby.
They are very excited as are we! We are expecting baby J's arrival sometime at the end of November.
We have been talking about what we will be called by this little one and it has not been decided yet. We are so very grateful that Jacquie and baby J (what we are saying until we know the gender) are doing very well!

Thursday Update

Happy May and Happy Mothers Day to all you Mom's!
So this week went by quick and although I did get some sewing in, I am not as far as I would have liked to be on my Greta quilt.
Small squares ready to be sewn into large squares.
Layout of squares and borders.
I still love how bright and cheery this fabric is.
Just a fun spring time clean kitchen pic:)
