Rachel~ The quilt really is not that big it is only 36x36. I have a guide that came with both of my sewing machines, it is a metal thingy that looks like an L shaped arm that you can move back and forth to the measurement you want up to about 2 1/4 inches. You just line it up with the first line you sew. I marked my first line on the diagonal down the middle. I then sewed one side and turned the quilt around and sewed the other side. I found that the spaces were a bit to big so I also stitched in the ditch around each pieced square. It went pretty quick.

So what is your trick on straight lines for all that quilting you did on such a big quilt? did you do it in sections? Looks Fabulous!
The quilt looks great! I wish I had patience to do a pieced-together quilt like that!
