Back tracking a bit. I found this cute pattern by searching for free patterns one evening while waiting for the arrival of our cute Bennett. It was really quite simple and only took me a few hours to make. Not bad for the first time following a new pattern. As for this week I have been working away at my Christmas cards and had a picture but it did not make into Aperture 3 for some reason. Human error I'm sure:(

Thursday Update
We have been blessed with wonderful warm fall weather here in Summerville! I have been doing a bit of creating but am spending more time outside.
So did anyone guess what the fabric rectangles from last week would become? Here is another peek.

Thursday Update
It has cooled down a lot here in Summerville this week. We are trying to get used to it with out dragging out coats, we need to wait until it really gets cold or we will have a long winter! So about 3 weeks ago I was able to join my first fabric swap!
Connie over at Green Apple Orchard is hosting this one. I am loving it so far and think I will join more in the future.
White is oh so pure.
Hmm I wonder what these rectangles are going to become!

Thursday Update (Last one for April)
Can you believe April is almost over? We are half way thru spring now and it has been much cooler then normal here. This past week I worked on a few small projects and started a small quilt.
I decided to just use an overlock stitch on this burp cloth and I like how it turned out and how fast it was. This is a fat quarter from JoAnn's.
I started working on the "Greta" quilt kit, it is by Me and My Sister using Spring Fever by Moda.
I have all the of the piece work cut and the white sashing and border cut.
Hopefully today I will get the outer border and binding cut.
I love this fabric it so cheerful!
I hope you have a wonderful week playing with fabric!

Thursday Update
This past week has been so beautiful it has been hard to stay inside. We were able to get a bit of landscaping done, I love all the color we were able to add.
My first Hosta is doing well so far.
I did manage to get a few things made. I wanted to get this head covered!
I made a checkbook cover to match my bag, but the measurements were too small. Any ideas what else I can use this for?

Thursday Update
Spring is really here and the Bradford Pears are all in bloom! This was taken a few days ago on my iPhone while stopped at a red light. They are now just bursting with White Blossoms. I don't own one so no close up pictures.
Here is my first try at a Pinwheel block. I made this to go in my frame for the Month of March.
This bottle cozy started out as a hat, I was crocheting to tight so I decided to just keep using a single crochet stitch and turn it into a glass or bottle cozy. These are nice to use when you have a cold soda or water bottle so they don't leave a wet mess on your desk.
This is my first attempt at Free Motion Quilting. It was all right but I am going to practice on a lot more scraps before attempting anything quilted.
This is a Pinwheel placemat I think it turned out better then the first attempt.
And the back, fabric is from Walmart in case you were wondering.
This came in the mail from the Fabric Shack they are located in Ohio. They have a super sale selection of Moda fabrics and my order came very quick;)
This is going to be in my April block!

Thursday Update
Wow this week has gone by so very quickly, I didn't really think I had gotten much done until I looked at my pictures I had taken. I finished my skirt and the second scarf I was working on to send in Nicks care package. I helped two Young Women start purses and last night I started another scarf.
As you all know the Earthquakes in Haiti have left so many with nothing. I found this wonderful sight this week and wanted to share it with you it is craft hope. They are hosting an Etsy shop where all the proceeds from the sales go to Doctors Without Borders. You can shop or craft and donate.

First Update of the New Year!
Happy New Year!
Can you believe it is a new decade already? I feel like last year just past by very quickly!
With that thought, I am still working on the same quilt. There is hope though that I will be finished quilting tonight!! Maybe I can even get the binding started!
I started crocheting a scarf for Nick. I am using a simple Single Crochet stitch with the M hook. I like the way it is turning out. I did have to pick a few rows out as they were a bit to wide.
I do have a sewing goal for this year. I am going to sew something that I can wear. If it works out and I like it I may plan a few more items, if not well then back to straight line sewing for me!!!

Tuesday Update
I am still working on the quilt, this week has been busy so I have not had as much time to work on projects as I would like. I did manage to do my first applique!! I think nest time I will pick some thing with less curves:) I finished my sample decor project for this weeks class! Finished the flat purse and made this cute Mini Book of Mormon cover that the YW did a few weeks ago at Mutual. I did not have time to do mine that night. So really I did finish a lot of unfinished projects just not the biggest one I needed to finish. Oh well maybe this week.

Tuesday Update
This week I started and finished this cute envelope purse by Lion Brand
It was an easy pattern to follow, it didn't take too, too long. I used Red Heart Super Saver yarn in Light Blue.
I did figure out how to attach all of my quilt pieces to the frame and am working on it a little each day. I have 3 rows finished so far. Only 6 more to go!
My little garden continues to grow!
I have a single small cherry tomato now!!
