Sister Dalton Came to SC!

It is 12:15 in the Morning and I just changed into my P.J's after returning from Columbia. We got to take our YM and YW to hear Sister Dalton speak. It was such a blessing. She is such a good example of the believers as the 2009 Mutual theme teaches. It was so awesome when all of the Young Women stood up and recited the Young Women's Theme with her. Then she asked for a few Young Men to volunteer to say what they felt as that happened. They said it was so Cool that they know that they are daughters of a Heavenly Father who loves them. One said that the Values are way cool. Etch.  She shared some personal experiences. She told them to take there time when reading the Book of Mormon and to liken the scripture to themselves. She told them how much she loved each of them. After she was finished speaking we viewed a short video. Sang called to serve and I cried after the first 5 words all the way thru. They were both happy and sad tears. After the closing prayer Sister Dalton was so kind to hug and speak with every single person who was there. The stake center was full!
She asked the youth to do these Three things each day.
1. Pray Morning and night
2. Read the Book of Mormon 5 min.
3. Smile

Dodge Ball

Tonight the Deacon's were in charge of the combined activity. They compared playing dodge ball to avoiding the fiery darts of Satan.

It was challenging to get these pictures without getting hit by a ball!

Oops!

Both the Young Men & Young Women enjoyed the challenge.  All had cookies and soda to replenish there energy levels when the games were over!

Personal Progress Night

Tonight the girls dressed in things that start with "P", brought a snack that begins with "P" and they worked on one of the Personal Progress values. We update their books and charts while they are working. Whoever is wearing the most items starting with a "P" get to take home a treat.

Softball with a watery twist!

The Laurel's were in charge of this fun activity! Everyone had a great time! The little baby pools survived and so did the slip-N-slide. Everyone who wanted too got drenched and those who didn't stayed dry:)

The Amazing race (YM/YW activity)

The Teachers quorum planned this activity. The kids went in groups of 4-6 to homes in the neighborhood by using clues and then did an activity or service when they arrived and got their next clue. After they all finished they met back at the neighborhood pool to eat BBQ. The hardest thing for them was being nice about which team they were on, some of them need to work on their manners a bit!
