The Tuesday Update!

I organized my Studio a bit. I had some left over wood blocks from a previous project and I just love that black paint! So I created a name for my work place and future whatevers(Is that a word)?

Studio * L*Arts & Crafts

I used the Stampin' Up Set Doodle Alphabet and White Craft ink, then I used clear sparkle embossing powder to set the ink. I made 2 green blocks and stamped them using flower stamp also from Stampin' Up. To finish them I used Modge Podge. After they dried I used some Stampin' Up ribbon to soften them a bit.

On the wall one of the picture frames I painted black. This is where I stash my yarn.

Here are some of the projects from the last week.

This is from the same pattern I used to make the baby girl hat and booties. This set turned out smaller maybe it was the yarn I used. It was Baby Bernat yarn.

I am not sure what these birds are but they were in one of our Palm Tree's catching some Rays:)

More Movie making Preparations!

Warning: There are more then a few pictures here.

Darren is very much into doing the very best job when he is asked to do something. These are of him getting his equipment ready for Trek.

Look closely and you will see that the line runs the full length of the house and then some.

Trying it with the camara now.
A very smooth ride!

Watch for the Movie at a U-Tube near you:)

A shopping trip to Lowe's

As mentioned in the previous post "TREK" is coming upon us soon. The 2nd week in April is Spring Break here, or as some of us would rather say Easter Vacation. Darren and I were out and about this evening gathering some of the supplies he will need to film the event.

We found almost all the things he needed. We stopped at Staples for a bag of rubberbands and when we got home the UPS man had dropped off the one piece of equipment he splurged on.

The young women were busy tonight!

Tonight the girls going on TREK made Apron's to wear. For some it was their first sewing experience. Some wonderful Sisters volunteered their sewing machines and time to help the girls.

The Bee's worked a little on their upcoming combined activity. For the remainder we made these friendship bracelets. The following link is for a wonderful tutorial so that you can make these too!

Last weeks projects!

This week has been a week of finishing and organizing. I did manage to start a few things as well.

I took pictures of my yarn stash so that I could put them in my Ravelry note book. Ravelry is a great site for people who like to Crochet or knit. I am studioL if you would like to join and look me up. It's free.

This is a bracelet Crocheted with wire, pearl and glass beads. I saw a Necklace done on a website.

I spent a couple of days painting all of my wood frames black with this paint.

I really like how they turned out. I will share what I did with all of the painted frames when I finish the complete project!

I made this for one of the Sisters I visit teach.

Completed Projects this week!

I forgot to make something Green, happy St. Patricks Day anyway!
This week went by so fast, I only completed a few projects. Not all are Crocheted:) I will include links to patterns and supplies if I can. Enjoy;)

This small cap kind of evolved so I do not have a pattern to share. I used Homespun Yarn by Lion Brand. I made this beanie using a free Red heart project sheet I found at Walmart and Black No Dye Lot worsted Yarn from Red Heart. Nick is Modeling it, but I made it for Darren to wear while working in TN.

This was an experiment to see if Stampin' Up's "Decor Elements" could be applied to a painted canvas. It worked out wonderfully.

Back

Both of these patterns came from SLK Designs they were very easy to follow and turned out very similar to her picture. I did use Red Heart Baby, sport weight yarn and so they are a bit bigger then the newborn to 3 month size. I would guess they are more like 3-6month, I have not been around a small baby for a while so that is a guestimate:) I also added the tie to the hat so that it would match the booties. These did not take more then a few hours.

March Madness

The Mia Maids planned a March Madness Basketball play off for this weeks Combined Activity. The youth really seemed to enjoy playing. Nick started out as a referree and ended up playing. He never wears shoes while playing basketball, I do not know how he keeps his toes from getting smashed.

What would we do without Deacons!

Late Winter at the beach!

We had a free afternoon so we decided to play a quik game of Tennis, Nick won. Then off to the beach. It was a bit cloudy and windy but getting warmer. Nick and Jacquie checked the water temp and yep it is still to cold for South Carolinian's to get in without a wetsuit. Some crazy Northerners were in their bathing suits!!!!
